This week I had the great pleasure of being part of The Retail Hub at Reed Gift Fairs, Sydney 2014. I presented a series of workshops on The Heart of Retail, to really challenge buyers to connect with the hopes, aspirations, challenges, goals and souls of their customers through content marketing.
Most commonly the issues I heard were buyers feeling overwhelmed with the possibilities of digitally marketing their businesses. Many were seeking structure and support in their approaches to content marketing and social media. The idea of hunting down their personal ‘why’ that drives their business energy, then digging deep into the heart of their customers to clarify their desires and aspirations and then exploring content ideas that could feed their needs, was exciting and welcomed.

This year Reed Gift Fairs themselves did a pretty good job at producing promotional content in the lead up to and during the show, largely using YouTube video and Facebook updates. Check out their YouTube channel for videos shot, edited and uploaded on the opening day, and a series of voxpops also filmed at the show and launched while the doors were still open. It takes an organised, committed, hardworking team to pull that off! Well done humans! Special big shout out to the amazing Extra Mile Pictures video crew – you are a DREAM TEAM. xx
Here are the videos they produced to promote my free education sessions for the show. I was beyond delighted to have them filmed at the beautiful Koskela (my retail spiritual home… which I wish was infact my real, actual, live in it every day home).
Thanks for watching. x
