2012 was one of those ‘growth’ years. You know those one of those ones where ‘challenges’ bring out your ‘strengths’, where the universe is supposed to give you nothing you can’t handle. Well I’m glad it’s over. The best thing about last year were all the incredible life changing books I read. If it wasn’t for these books, I could have fallen into on big black hole and stayed there for quite a while. So with my blessing, here is a list of my go to books on how to live life well.
Daring Greatly, Brené Brown
‘Vulnerability is the birth place of connection, creativity and innovation.’ CHANGED. MY. LIFE.
The Power of Full Engagement, Tony Schwartz
Validated my need for rest and renewal – to recharge our four energies: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Lead me to ask for a big chunk of time off. And eventually leave a very full on, full time job.
The Happiness Project, Gretchen Rubin
Happiness is a matter of conscious effort, we need to choose everyday. Find the things that help steer you in the right direction.
The Power of Now, Ekhart Tolle
OK, so I only read the first 40 pages. But I got the jist. And I like it. There is nothing other than the present moment.
Oh the paper stock, the muted inks, the clean layout, the ‘green’ stories with style and substance. I want to live in this magazine.
County Style (Australia)
Inside the city loving chick that I am, there’s a country girl looking for a wide verandah and a rose garden. Just for a moment I’m there.
