Good Things :: Winter Green Smoothie

Winter green smoothie recipe

I’m a huge fan of green smoothies. But I don’t follow a recipe. I tend to buy organic seasonal ingredients and take it from there. This is my latest blend which I decided to document because it was a particularly good batch, and someone from my Preggibellies class asked me for a recipe. So here goes…

800ml filtered water
Two big handfuls of green kale, roughly chopped (stems removed if you prefer)
4-5 stems of celery, roughly chopped
Knob of ginger
1 zucchini, roughly chopped
2 passionfruit
Flesh of 1 lemon
Flesh of 1 lime
2 apples, roughly chopped
1 banana, roughly chopped
Desiccated coconut for topping (optional)
Jars (for storing)

Add the water and kale to the blender. Blend well. Add celery and ginger and blend again. Keep adding ingredients and blending until it’s all mixed in. Taste it and tweak it as desired. Pour into a class, top with a sprinkle of desiccated coconut and a spoonful of passionate fruit pulp. Drink immediately. Any leftovers can be stored in airtight glass jars for a few days (they’re the best mid-afternoon pick me up you can give yourself). Enjoy! x
